😬😬😬 I'm fine. It's fine.

Okay, I'm not fine. I'm frustrated with Kickstarter and it's new pledge manager. It was supposed to be better for both creators and backers and make it so I could move away from a third party like Backerkit. But I've had nothing but problems with it. I thought I finally had it worked out last month, but as I went to finalize this week to send surveys, I ran into more issues.

So I'm done with it, and I'm pivoting back to Backerkit to handle the survey and every thing post campaign (outstanding shipping, allow you to add anything extra to your pledge if you want, etc). Lesson learned, not to be an early adopter to such things and stick to what I do know works.

I'm already half done with every that needs to be handled so there shouldn't be too long of a delay. I'm just making this update for transparency, so you all know what's going on and so you won't be surprised by this pivot. I'll update again when surveys are coming.

Enamel Pin

The samples of the pin came in and it's so good! I immediately secured a shipment and they should be arriving within the next few weeks. Take a look!

Holiday Update! Cover + Art progress

Happy Holidays everyone!

I've got an exciting update for you. The replacement person cover I mentioned was going to have to come into existence just landed in my inbox. What I'm going to share with you is just the front cover. We still have to work out the jacket and paperback design but that should come after the holidays end. Of course, we've got time since we're still waiting on the final pieces of art (more on those in a bit).

What do you think? I'm so very happy with this new cover. I think it's a beautiful replacement for the previous one.

Now that this cover is finalized I can update things on the backend and feel confident about finally continuing with getting the survey and pledge manager back on track.

Enamel Pin in the Works

The dragon enamel pin is also in progress. I'm waiting on two samples to arrive (which should be any day now) so I can decide between a hard enamel or soft enamel design (digital mockups above). After I make the decision, I'll get an order made up, and should have those in around the end of January.

Art Progress

The last two pieces of art that were unlocked during the stretch goals are well under way. They're making such good progress I'm predicting completions in the next few weeks. So we're incredibly close to everything finally coming together. That will mean ebooks will finally go out (as previously mentioned those had to be delayed since I promised not only would this ebook edition have the unlocked bonus chapter, but also all the art).

Hey everyone!

It's been a wild few weeks for me juggling my cat's situation and the cover fiasco but things are smoothing out and I'm bringing to be able to breathe and now give an update.

First, Ace is doing okay. He's still got a long road ahead of him but he's stable and healing. He only had one small backslide recently but has been bouncing back quickly, like we want. We believe we've found the route cause and through medicine and a careful diet change we believe he'll flourish to his annoying loveable self. Anything can change of course, but we're very hopeful and optimistic, and that grows each day he gets stronger and goes without another indecent. incident.

And for the cover situation.

I ultimately had to make the decision to completely replace the character cover. There were some larger issues a play than just affecting the deluxe edition promises and it resulted in it being best to seek alternate cover/designer for this series. I thought this would put me in a bad place, as getting last minute spots on any designer's schedule is near impossible they days (the good ones on my list usually book 6+ months out in advance) but I lucked out.

My cover designer Trif, bless them, has graciously provided a spot for me in a few weeks. Trif is the designer who did the symbol cover and they will be doing a character style cover to match the promised style type. Trif does amazing work for both styles, so I believe you're all going to be happy with the end result and I'm really excited to be trying this. Below are a few examples of what they can do in that style so you can get an idea of what is to come.

And I'm trying to fix it the best I can...

I'm having some difficulties with the main cover for this book (character cover). The cover designer let me know she had a computer malfunction and lost a portion of her original working files for some of her client work. Unfortunately, Prophecy of Convergence's cover was caught up in this.

This causes a lot of issues, especially when it comes to the deluxe upgrade as those original files are needed in order to make some of my promised extras possible, but also impacts the main retail editions as well. I'm beyond frustrated with the situation, and have to figure out if there's a way to salvage this cover or if I'm going to have to look into a different cover option with other designers. This second option adds a whole load of difficulties between timeline availabilities, your expectations, and making sure I'm holding up my promises of the end product that is just so daunting, that I would hate to have to go that route, but it might have to be the one I take. I'm not sure.

On top of this, I'm trying to navigate an emergency with my cat who I had to rush to the hospital after he had a seizure. (He's stable and recovering, we're still not 100% sure what caused it, but he is healing and being held there until we know for sure what's up.)

So, things are a bit of a mess right now. I'm trying to figure out how to fix it. I don't know how I'm going to. But I will. I just need to panic first. Then I'll cry and rage (again). Then I'll pull up my big girl pants and get it figured out.

I wanted to give transparency, and will continue to do so as I navigate this situation.

Art and Cover update + Survey

Hey everyone, I've got an exciting update to share. Two of the four remaining illustrations completed, and I received the final files of one of the book covers. I also have an update on survey status.

Survey Update

I'm finally moving forward with the survey and pledge manager. The weirdness I was having has cleared up so that's good. I will be working on finalizing things within the next week if all goes smooth the rest of the way. There's a whole approval process that KS does with this when I'm ready to submit, and since this is the first time I'm doing this through KS I don't know how long that will take.

I'll give you a heads up of course before the survey officially goes out, but this is the pre-warning that it's coming.

What to expect: The survey should be fairly easy and straight forward. All the questions I've set up will be needed to to aid me with fulfillment later. There will also be a collection for sales tax/vat, outstanding shipping fees, and opportunities for people to add to pledges if you want any last minute adjustments.

We are one step closer to begin fulfillment. There's definitely a few outstanding things holding us up because of the stretch goals we reached (reminder, all fulfilment is waiting on the last illustrations to complete before I can finalize book files, including the eBook), but we're almost there. I am also looking into finally ordering in merch like stickers, and pins and such, so those will all be ready to go by the time the books a ready to print.

The symbol cover for Prophecy of Convergence now has officially completed its round of paperback and hardback hard case creation. It's beautiful, and I wanted to share it with you all.

I am still waiting on the character based cover from my other designer. Hopefully I will be hearing from her soon.

Illustrations

It's reveal time for the Xalanath and chapter 8 scene illustration. If you would rather not be spoiled and wait until you get your book/art prints to see for yourself, stop reading this update now because there's nothing left to read for an update. Galinndan and Orsik are starting to be worked on now.
