Hey everyone,

I didn't realize how much time has passed since my last update, and while I know I said things would be quiet for a bit as things were worked on in the background, you're still owed updates.

Status of survey and final shipping payment

I've had a few inquiries about this. It's been a bit of a complicated situation I didn't anticipate. Backerkit it was easy for me to get things set up with my last campaign, but there's been some unexpected snags with Kickstarter's Pledge manager that I've been waiting on to clear up.

Unbeknownst to me when I enabled the feature, Kickstarter didn't allow me to send surveys while I had pledge over time payments processing. Not the worst issue, but it would have been nice to know this when I set up expectations for everyone. Those have all recently finished processing final payments, so this is no longer a hang-up.

The processing delay did end up being a blessing in disguise, as there's been some weirdness with Kickstarter's new pledge manager that I refused to continue with until it was sorted out. I'm hoping this will be worked through very soon, and we can proceed within the next few weeks so that any pending shipping fees aren't hanging over anyone's heads for much longer.

Status of eBook

Besides the survey hang up, the ebook has been delayed on top of that as I promised illustrations inside as part of this KS offer over the retail edition, and that includes the stretch goal artwork is completed. The moment those are complete, and surveys have been filled out, I'll be doing the digital fulfillment quickly.

Status of artwork

This one has been the biggest hold up. Normally it takes about a month for each image to be completed, but things are taking a little longer than normal. There was a small hiccup IRL for my artist but things have recently gotten back on track.

Xal's image and the scene image between him and Avi are nearly complete. Below are the most recent WIP updates I've gotten. We're expecting them to finish in the next two weeks. 

Gal and Orsik's illustrations haven't been started yet, but they're queued up once the other two images complete.

Due to the delay, I'm expecting we're likely at least another 2 months out before they're all complete and we can proceed. I'll provide more updates as art finishes, when the survey is expected to be ready and sent out, and all that fun stuff.

Hey everyone,

I'm working quietly in the background getting things in motion. I'm doing one more pass in the manuscript for any more issues that need last minute adjustments, then it'll head off for formatting (and will wait in that stage for a bit while the illustrations are finished).

I'm also trying to figure out the character glossary. I've been trying to decide the best way to do it. I'm open to input, so if there's a particular feature in a glossary you like, feel free to comment here for me mull over.

Illustrations are moving along. My artist Maerel said I should be seeing some sketches for Xalanath and the chapter 8 scene next week hopefully. I also got the final image of Temperance. Take a look!

Stunning, isn't it? So much detail, so many amazing little pieces to love about it. Let me know what you think!

I'll update again when I've got more to share.

Last day to fix payments

This post marks the successful end of the campaign, and what an amazing few weeks it has been. 75 of you amazing people brought this Kickstarter to life and reached 3 stretch goals and 1 flash goal that will improve this book just that little extra.

Thank so much for your support on this.

What's next

Kickstarter will collect your pledges this week (credit cards can fail, so double check to make sure everything is good on your end). If you're using a payment plan, you'll be charged in increments laid out by Kickstarter's terms. This money will not yet include the shipping that will be owed. That'll come later.

While that's going on, things might go a little quiet from me for a bit. I'll be working in the background finalizing the book formatting as well as working with my artists to finish the book page edge design and get the new unlocked artwork created. With how many art pieces we unlocked, it's likely some planned delivery dates will change. I will be keeping you up-to-date with all progress.

I will also be working on finalizing the survey, which will be where final shipping costs will be due. This survey will come from Kickstarter. You must fill out this survey to get your pledged items. This survey ensures I have all the information I need to send your items.

I will keep you looped in everything progresses, and if we hit any snags, you'll be the first to know.

48 Hours To Go! Stretch Goal #3 Reached!

Happy Monday!

And normally, I wouldn't say that. But today is a great Monday. We hit the 3rd stretch goal!!

This goal unlocks character art for Orsik and Galinndan. The art will be added to all book editions, and art prints will automatically be added to bundle tiers. I've also created add-ons for those who wish to update their pledge.

UNLOCKED Stretch Goal and Flash Goal recap:

First stretch goal: Chapter titles for all editions.

Second stretch goal: A new bonus chapter in a brand new character POV for all editions.

Third stretch goal: Character art for Orsik and Galinndan will be made. These will be added to all book editions and created into prints which will come automatically with all bundle tiers. Add-ons are also now available.

Flash goal: Character art for Xalanath plus 1 scene illustration between Aviana and Xalanath from chapter 8. These will be added to all book editions and created into prints which will come automatically with all bundle tiers. Add-ons are also now available.

Next Goal is at $7,000.
